Addo’s Dungbeetle River Lodge is a four star Guest House located on the bank of the scenic Sundays River, 40 kilometers outside Port Elizabeth, and only 5 kilometers from the Colchester entrance of the world famous Addo Elephant National Park, the ideal entry point to visit this unique Game Reserve.
The Sundays River flows at the foot of the guest house, offering sweeping river views from the lodge’s decks and a perfect backdrop to an all-South African experience of big five game viewing, river activities such as safe swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, river cruises etc.
Opposite the lodge is the famous Alexandria Dune Field, a hikers paradise of interesting facts, history, geology, flora and fauna and popular for sand sledding, sand boarding, dune hikes and beach walks.

Both the owners are nature/game guides to Addo Elephant National Park, and in keeping with their love for nature, the lodge is run as eco-friendly facility.
Substantial farmhouse breakfasts, with fresh home baked breads, freshly made real fruit juice is served on our deck overlooking Sundays River.
Dungbeetle River Lodge is located in Colchester on the banks of the Sundays River with the famous Alexandria Dune Field, a hikers paradise of interesting facts, history, geology, flora and fauna opposite the Lodge. The river and dunefield are the playground where watersports such as paddle boarding, hiking, beach walks sand sledding, bird watching, fishing and sundowner cruises are popular pass times.
